The Bellandur police on Saturday arrested Tanveer Khan in connection with the collapse of a four-storey under-construction building at Kasavanahalli, in which four labourers were killed and several labourers injured. Khan is the holder of the general power of attorney (GPA) of the building.
The police said Khan and Krishnakanth Reddy were in charge of renovating the old structure to convert it into a paying guest accommodation. Krishnakanth Reddy, who was supervising the building, is absconding.
The police said Khan had taken the GPA from the building owners Rafiq and his wife Sameera, and had started renovating the old structure.
The police had detained Sameera, and executive engineer Muni Reddy for questioning. Rafiq is absconding.
Search operations continued at the site on Saturday as rescue operation personnel believe that there could be more bodies in the debris.
