Technology, science, culture and entertainment come together in Bangalore in the form of an Urban Mela. The Indo-German Mela that kicked-off on Friday is a part of the ongoing celebrations to mark the completion of six decades of Indo-German diplomatic ties, ‘Germany and India 2011-2012: Infinite Opportunities’.
The event will have several pavilions which will offer interactive features, games, models and experiments. As many as 80 volunteers will assist visitors in understanding how India and Germany can move towards a common future. It will also include performances by heavy metal acts such as Arkadius and Krypto.
Dr. Ingo Karsten, German Consul General in Bangalore believes the Mela “offers a glance on how the city of tomorrow could function.The ten-day-long exhibition will focus on the prospects of wider cooperation between two of the largest economies of the world. Bangalore is the second city where the Mela is being held, following Mumbai where it was held in April. More such exhibitions are on the anvil in Chennai, Delhi and Pune.
