According to the police, the victim, Savitha, was riding without helmet along with her brother at the time of the accident, which took place between Nayandahalli and Bangalore University. Her brother, who sustained injuries, was discharged after treatment in a hospital.

The police said Savitha, a resident of T. Narsipur, was visiting her relatives here and was heading to a wedding when the bus hit the two-wheeler.

The bus driver was arrested and a case filed at Byatarayanapura police station.

The pillion rider had a miraculous escape with minor injuries. The driver of the bus, Nagaraju, was arrested and the bus seized.
