The former Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa held a meeting of BJP MLAs from Bangalore city on Tuesday.

Mr. Yeddyurappa is learnt to have expressed concern over the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike’s “slack response” to problems haunting people, especially garbage disposal, at a time when elections to the State Assembly were fast approaching.

According to sources, he asked legislators to spend more time with people of their constituencies and try to quickly respond to their problems, especially those related to civic amenities. Bangalore has a large chunk of 28 Assembly constituencies

He is learnt to have stated that he would take a delegation of Ministers from Bangalore city to Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar on September 14 to hold consultations on the ways of resolving the garbage crisis. According to a prominent legislator from the city, Mr. Yeddyurappa referred to a garbage disposal system adopted in Salem that could be emulated by Bangalore.

All the MLAs from Bangalore city barring three are learnt to have attended the meeting.
