Only way is through:Commuters struggle to wade through the rising froth in Bellandur on Friday.

The clouds of froth that the lakes in the city’s southeast parts have become infamous for rose again as Bengaluru buckled under incessant rain on Friday evening.

In what has become a recurring phenomenon, bringing international disrepute on the city, the highly polluted froth spilled on to the roads yet again, this time from both Bellandur and Varthur lakes.

Images of vehicle users wading through the snow-like froth, clicking pictures from inside their vehicles, started streaming on social networking sites.

Monil J., a resident of Bellandur, said the increased frothing had only added to the distress of commuters as Yamalur has already been witnessing flooding for the last three days.

Bellandur lake overflowed, and the polluted water entered a private residential layout on Wednesday night. The water gushed into Kariyammana Agrahara and the road leading to Yamalur Tech Park, disrupting traffic and leaving residents of the area stranded.

While work on the new bridge and ramp across Bellandur lake is ongoing, a portion of the bridge caved in, resulting in the mesh and screen that the BBMP had put up, falling. Once again, the wetlands between Kasavanahalli and Kaikondrahalli lakes were inundated.
