Four killed, one injured as car rams into tanker near Kolar

Three of the deceased are from Andhra Pradesh

Four people were killed on the spot and one was injured seriously when a car in which they were travelling to Bengaluru rammed into a gas tanker from the rear at Pajakallahalli Gate near Narasapur on National Highway 75 in the wee hours of Monday.

Three of the deceased and the injured were said to be hailing from Andhra Pradesh while another deceased was from Bengaluru, Vemagal Sub-Inspector of Police Nataraj M.R. said.

The deceased are Srinath Reddy, Amarendra Babu, Chandrashekhar Karnati and Venkata Narendra, a native of K.G. Halli in Bengaluru. Another traveller, Bharath Reddy, was seriously injured and slipped into coma and was admitted to R.L. Jalappa Hospital here.

Negligent driving and drowsiness of the driver was said to be the cause for the accident. While the car (AP 9 BL 9888) was mangled, the rod of the gas tanker was damaged. Vemgal police have registered a case.
