Four Burundi nationals, who, in an inebriated state, created a ruckus on Brigade Road here on Saturday night, have been arrested by the Ashok Nagar police.

The four were identified as Jean Michel Minawi (21), Rumuri Qurain (30), Butera Francis (31) and Arnaua (28), all from Burundi in East Africa. They are Computer Science students of T. John College here. The four came to India in 2011 on student visas. The students also allegedly misbehaved with police personnel who said that the students manhandled them.

According to the police, the four friends, residents of Basavanthapura near Bannerghatta, were at a club on Brigade Road where they got involved in a drunken brawl and were asked to leave. Around 1 a.m., the students broke a few liquor bottles and created nuisance in the area following which some passersby alerted the police.

Apart from the policemen who were on night patrol duty, personnel from the Ashok Nagar police station too rushed to the spot and tried to bring the situation under control. However, the four students manhandled a few police personnel, the police said.

They policemen later called for additional police personnel to take the group to the police station.

Cases have been booked against the four accused who were produced in court.
