Two of the three former mayors, all Congressmen who contested the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) polls, have made it to the council again. K. Chandrashekar and R. Narayana Swamy won from Hanumanthnagar and Jalahalli even as another former mayor, P.R. Ramesh, who fought a long legal battle to get the Government to hold the elections, lost.

The results also sprang another surprise with several former corporators, who held prominent positions in the erstwhile BMP Council, losing.
