A college student from Congo fell to his death from the third floor of his hostel in Bagalur here early on Saturday.
Kasinzi Mwel Evam Chadrack (21), was a first year Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) student at the Koshys Institute of Management Studies at Kadusonnappanahalli, Bagalur. Kasinzi, who had enrolled in the course about six months ago, lived at the hostel on the college premises.
Around 3 a.m. on Saturday morning, Kasinzi and his friends were reportedly playing a game during which he tried to jump from the fourth floor parapet wall onto the window shade of the third floor. However, this went completely wrong, as he fell to the ground.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared brought dead.
According to a college representative, the student was playing a prank on another hostel resident, and had been trying to hide after knocking on the door.
“It was an extremely unfortunate incident. A group of about four friends stayed on the fourth floor…The hostel warden resides on the second floor but he cannot be awake through the night. We were alerted by the security guard about his fall and called an ambulance,” said the representative.
The Bagalur police have registered a case of unnatural death and are waiting for the post-mortem.
