September 22, 2014 07:04 pm | Updated 07:17 pm IST - Bangalore:

Authorities at Bangalore City Railway Station said there was a robbery in one of the four general coaches of Yeshwanthpur-Tatanagar Express (Number 12890) on Monday morning.

Sunanda Arul, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Bangalore, South Western Railway, said five eunuchs robbed passengers, then pulled the chain at Banaswadi and ran away. The train had no stoppage at Banaswadi and was to pass through it.

Railway Police S.P. Siddaramappa said it is not clear where they boarded the train or what amount they took from passengers as there was no complaint registered and passengers who had witnessed the incident had left.

He said, "All that is clear is that some people have committed robbery".
