Five arrested for murdering their aunt for property

The Bagalagunte police have arrested five persons for strangulating to death their 60-year-old aunt for property on March 14 this year.

According to the police, the deceased, Anusuyamma, was living alone in her three-storey house in Bagalagunte and owned three acres of land in Nelamangala.

As Anusuyamma did not have any children, the accused, who are her nephews, decided to kill her to bequeath her property.

As per the plan, the accused went to her house and strangulated her to death and dumped her body in washroom before fleeing the spot.

During the course of investigation, the police found that the accused were the persons to have visited her.

The accused, who have been taken into custody, confessed to the crime, the police said.

The accused Anjaneyaswamy (52), Mallesh Nayak (26), Manju Nayak (26), Yogesh Nayak (21) and Muniyappa, (40) have been booked for murder and remanded to judicial custody.
