First 3D print Ganesha

This Ganesh Chaturthi, witness the unveiling of three dimensional (3D) printed idols of Lord Ganesha in his various forms at the Rangoli Metro Art Centre.Some idols are six feet tall.

Based on the historical Ashtavinayaka temples in Maharashtra, you can see eight forms of Ganesha. Other 3D idols on display include the deity of Siddivinayaka temple in Mumbai and Dagduseth Halwai temple in Pune.

Touted as a first in the country, the 3D idols will be displayed by Altem Technologies, a 3D printing technology company. A total of 12 idols capturing Lord Ganesha in various moods and shapes have been created using ‘Stratasys 3D Printing Technologies’, said a company representative.

The initiative was taken by Altem Technologies in an effortto popularise professional 3D printing in India.
