Fast-track work on overbridges and underbridges : Sadananda Gowda

June 10, 2014 12:13 am | Updated October 18, 2016 02:47 pm IST - BANGALORE:

Railway Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda wants work on the city’s railway overbridges (ROBs) and railway underbridges (RUB) to be completed expeditiously, said a senior railway official.

The official said that the Minister, in his meeting with railway officials here last week, discussed all cases of RUBs and ROBs.

He said, “The Minister is pursuing RUBs and ROBs and said that they should be done quickly.”

Mr. Sadananda Gowda is said to have urged the Railways to coordinate closely with the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) and the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) as ROBs are held up owing to land issues which could be resolved only if these two authorities were involved.

He said that South Western Railway has also been “struggling for about three years with the same issues”.
