The young, old and the young-at-heart pedalled their way into an early, fun and fit Sunday through ‘Syclovia’.

Popularly known as ‘Sunday sunshine rides’, the event was organised by Starkenn Sports Pvt. Ltd.

The city was chosen for the unique family get together to commemorate Bangalore’s distinction of having the highest number of consumers of premium bicycles in India.

Starkenn’s aim through the event was to nurture and popularise the cycling culture and a healthy way of living. The organisers said cycling was known to get one fitter as it lifted the heart rate to a more beneficial level. Cycling has been catching up with the masses as a form of physical activity, they said.

The ride began at Langford Road at around 7 a.m. and ended at Phoenix MarketCity, Mahadevpura. It was not just cycling that the participants enjoyed.

They also took part in zumba, yoga and a music show. The Hindu was the media partner for the event.
