A house belonging to a former MLA in Sadashivanagar was burgled and valuables worth Rs. 50 lakh looted on Sunday.

Venkatashiva Reddy, who had won from Srinivasapura Assembly constituency, had gone out of station along with his family on Saturday and returned home late on Sunday to find the house ransacked.

The Sadashiva Nagar police rushed to the spot and verified the CCTV footage to find a group of thieves breaking open the door, moving around and looting valuables. The police have obtained some clues based on which a manhunt has been launched to track down the culprits.

The police suspect that someone known to Mr. Reddy could have committed the theft.
