Nine of the total 18 juveniles, who escaped from the State Home for Boys on Hosur Road, were traced on Tuesday.

The boys, all minors, had been rescued from a factory in DJ Halli. On Sunday, they had climbed down the two-storey stone building holding on to a drain pipe. Special teams had been keeping a watch at bus stands and railway stations in search of the boys, police said.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Sandeep Patil said that the nine boys were found in a room near Modi Road in DJ Halli. They had escaped with nine other boys, all from Bihar, from the home. Officials said that the nine boys, who were traced, would be sent back to the same home. “We have given instructions to the warden and the supervisor to ensure that proper care is taken. We have also told them to locate the families of the boys as soon as possible so that they could be reunited,” an official said.
