The Karnataka High Court on Friday directed the law enforcing agencies to ensure sufficient precautions to maintain peaceful atmosphere of the city during proposed visit of American Evangelist Benny Hinn this month.

The High Court also took an assurance from the counsel of Sri Rama Sene, which had challenged his visit, not to create commotion and disturb peace by any means.

Benny Hinn is participating in a religious programme in Bangalore from January 15 to 19.

The High Court directions come amid protests against granting permission for the programme by various organisations including Komu Souharda Vedike, whose activists held a demonstration in front of Town Hall on Friday.
