Engineering student ends life in hostel

Preliminary enquiries by the police revealed that Babu was depressed over his poor performance

A 23-year-old engineering student committed suicide by hanging at his hostel room in Talaghattapura on Monday.

The deceased, Yara Naga Babu, from Andhra Pradesh was pursuing fourth semester in Electronics in Kammavari Sangha Institute of Technology (KSIT) College on Kanakapura Road and living in the hostel situated on the college campus. Preliminary enquiries by the police revealed that Babu was depressed over his poor performance for the last few days.

Unwell

On Monday, Babu stayed back at the room stating he was unwell while his roommate went to attend classes. The suicide came to light when they returned to the room in the afternoon and found Babu hanging from the ceiling fan.

Case registered

The Talaghattapra police have registered a case and are investigating to ascertain the reason behind his extreme step.
