July 24, 2014 12:35 am | Updated 12:35 am IST - BANGALORE:

The boulevard on the M. G. Road Metro station will soon be a platform where people can meet celebrities from the world of art and culture.

People will be able to meet celebrities face-to-face, interact with them, ask how they became successful and get to know them as individuals and Bangaloreans in a series entitled “Conversations”.

Noted personalities, who have excelled in literature and the visual and performing arts, will be invited once a month.

Future plans

While the series will initially start with artists and writers residing in the city, plans are afoot to extend it to include artistes from other parts of the State and beyond Karnataka as well.

Vasanth Rao, General Manager (Finance), Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited, said, “The boulevard should be a place soaked in art.” The series will commence at the Rangoli Metro Art Centre, M. G. Road Metro Station on Saturday with Kathak danseuse Maya Rao. It will include a reading from her book, “Dr Maya Rao - A life time of Choreography”, to be followed by a Kathak dance choreographed by Ms. Rao and performed by Natya & Stemdance Kampani.

The event begins at 6.30 p.m.
