A 40-year-old bus driver was crushed to death on Tuesday while he was fast asleep under his bus that was parked at the bus bay in Dodda Thoguru near Electronics City.

The deceased has been identified as Srinivas, driver with National Travels. The police said that he had taken the bus for a wash. Since there was a queue, he fell asleep under his bus while waiting for his turn.

Meanwhile, another bus driver brought his bus to the yard to clean. Noticing Srinivas’s bus, he moved it crushing Srinivas under the wheels. The police said that the driver moved the bus without realising that Srinivas was sleeping under it.

The other drivers pulled Srinivas out and rushed him to St. John's Hospital, where the doctors declared him as brought dead.

The Electronics City traffic police rushed to the spot and arrested Waseem and Sheikh Sanaullah. They have now been charged for causing death due to negligence.
