DPUE trying to get its act together

May 25, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:52 am IST - BENGALURU:

After hundreds of II pre-university students got to the streets and created a furore over the results, the Department of Pre-University Education (DPUE) is trying to get its act right. Officials of the department were seen working even on Sunday. They said that 300 employees were dispatching photocopies and the helpline continued to receive calls.

Meanwhile, students even went to BangaloreOne centres to apply for re-evaluation and photocopies, but the rush was comparatively lesser than Saturday. Minister of State for Primary and Secondary Education, Kimmane Ratnakar, made a surprise visit to the department office and spent about two hours reviewing the progress. The weeklong chaos seems to have put some officials too under stress. Suresh Kumar, Assistant Director of DPUE, who was along with the other officers clarifying doubts to the media, fainted on Sunday.
