DPS case: cab driver arrested

December 25, 2014 02:06 am | Updated 02:06 am IST - Bengaluru:

The cab driver, who forced a bus ferrying school children on an excursion, to halt on Mysuru Road, barged inside and assaulted two students, was arrested on Wednesday.

The cab driver, Raghu Kumar, who is in his mid-30s, is said to be working with a private company in Bidadi. The arrest was made after Delhi Public School (South) filed a police complaint on Tuesday, five days after the incident. The school management alleged that he entered the bus and slapped a student while elbowing another child sitting nearby.

Police sources arrested him based on the registration number provided by the school. The driver reportedly told the police that the class 11 boys threw water repeatedly on the passengers he was ferrying. “The employees were working on their laptop and were inconvenienced is what the driver claimed,” sources in the police said.

Police also said that the boy’s parents were not willing to come forward to give their statements. They, however, said that the statement of the school management was recorded.
