Double murder: police visit Chickballapur

June 24, 2011 09:31 am | Updated 03:59 pm IST - CHICKBALLAPUR:

To ascertain why the killers had dumped the bodies of the two Hunsur students, who were kidnapped and murdered, on the outskirts of Chickballapur, a team led by Bangalore's Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Alok Kumar visited the area on Thursday.

The police team, along with Chickballapur Superintendent of Police T.D. Pawar, examined the spot where the bodies were found on June 12, near Agalagurki village on the outskirts of Chickballapur.

Later, Mr. Alok Kumar told The Hindu as Bangalore's Central Crime Branch (CCB) had taken over the investigation from the Mysore police, the team visited the spot to have a better knowledge of the case.

“Although there is no Chickballapur angle as of now, we want to ascertain whether the kidnappers had intentionally dumped the body near Agalagurki,” he said.
