The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president and Home Minister G. Parameshwara on Sunday warned his partymen of disciplinary action if they continued to speak against the leadership and the party’s decisions in public.

Speaking at a function where Dinesh Gundu Rao took charge as the new KPCC working president, Mr. Parameshwara said: “There are various levels within the party to air your grievances and get them resolved. You should not make statements in public. If this continues, disciplinary action will be initiated,” he said.

Expressing displeasure over the misinformation campaign carried out against him in the aftermath of the Cabinet reshuffle, Leader of the Congress in the Lok Sabha M. Mallikarjun Kharge said he had already asked Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to put an end to such attempts by some members in the party.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Mr. Parameshwara, who hit out at the Bharatiya Janata Party, said the Opposition was not leaving any stone unturned to embarrass the State government.

‘Popularise schemes’

Later, addressing members in his maiden office-bearers’ meeting, Mr. Dinesh Gundu Rao advised them to popularise the State government’s welfare schemes among people keeping in mind the next elections.
