April 16, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:34 am IST - Bengaluru:

The Central Investigation Bureau (CBI) is yet to begin probe into the death of IAS officer D.K. Ravi. Amidst reports that the Union government has accepted the State government’s requisition for a CBI probe, it is yet to hand over the probe.

CBI sources told The Hindu that it would register an FIR as soon as there was a notification by the Union government. “We were informed of the Union government’s decision to hand over the case to us only through media reports. There has been no formal communication yet,” she said. While it is rumoured that the homicide wing of CBI in Chennai would investigate the case, sources say a special team from the central unit in Delhi would be formed to probe the case.
