Several children at the Government Urdu Higher Primary School in D.J. Halli took ill on Saturday and were taken to Dr. Ambedkar Hospital after they complained of stomach ache and vomiting sensation during class hours.

Anxious parents, who were present on the campus, rushed them to the hospital in Hoysala using a police patrol vehicle.

Nearly 360 schoolchildren were hospitalised when they fell ill after having mid-day meals here on Friday afternoon. Although most of the children have been discharged, around 70 are still hospitalised.

On Saturday, Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Kimmane Ratnakar visited the school and promised to sanction funds to improve the school infrastructure.
