“You were so passionate about justice to the common man. But why did you inflict such injustice on me? Did you not remember me even for a minute as you ended your life?” a wailing Kusuma Ravi repeatedly said in front of her husband’s body on Tuesday.
Not in a position to even speak, she collapsed as Ravi’s body was brought to the house after autopsy at Victoria Hospital. Thousands had gathered at her Nagarabhavi residence to pay their last respects before the body was taken to his native village in Tumakuru for last rites.
CBI probeMeanwhile, the family demanded a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the IAS officer’s death. Ravi’s father-in-law Hanumantharayappa said they did not believe he committed suicide. However, he was quick to add, “If he committed suicide, there must be a very strong reason for it and the reason for his death, even if it is suicide, has to be probed thoroughly through a CBI inquiry.”
“An analysis of his mobile phone and laptop may reveal as to what may have pushed him into taking this step. We demand that the case be handed over to the CBI,” Mr. Hanumantharayappa said.
