Congress legislator from Devara Hippargi in Bijapur district A.S. Patil was among the three persons injured when the sports utility vehicle (SUV) by which they were travelling rammed a lorry on National Highway 4, near Nelamangala.
The other two have been identified as Gilan Sab, who was driving the SUV, and Fakruddin.
All the three have been admitted to a private hospital at Nelamangala.
According to the Nelamangala police, the incident occurred around 3 p.m. at Bommanahalli village. The police said that Mr. Gilani suffered a fracture on his right leg. The injuries to Mr. Patil and Mr. Fakruddin were not stated to be serious.
The sources said that Mr. Patil, who was on his way to Bangalore from Bijapur switched to the SUV, near Sandur, after his car broke down.
