Deputy Commissioner K.P.Mohan Raj on Wednesday has barred three men, who were accused of stripping and beating a Dalit in January, from Tumakuru district.

On January 17, Byatarayappa (26), Ramesh (41) and a minor girl’s father had allegedly stripped a youth, beat him and put a garland of slippers around his neck.

The 19-year-old youth, Abhishek, was thrashed by the group after the minor complained to her parents that he was harassing her. The men hung a slate around his neck bearing the words ‘you meet this fate if you harass Gubbi girls’.

Brandishing a pistol, the girl's father had threatened to shoot him. The trio had taken pictures and videos of the youth with slippers around his neck.

Five men, including the girl's father, were arrested for thrashing and humiliating the Dalit youth.

Mr. Mohan Raj told The Hindu that the trio will be extradited from Tumakuru district to Bengaluru Rural district. The order was based on a report and request of Superintendent of Police Isha Pant. He had also taken expert opinion before issuing the order.
