Decomposed body of man found in goods truck

A partially decomposed body of a 70-year-old man was found inside a goods mini-truck in Subramanyapura on Tuesday.

The Police, based on a complaint, rushed to the spot after a few locals informed about the foul smell emanating from the goods auto.

Police have identified the deceased as Mahadeva, a resident of Gowdanapalya. He is survived by his wife and son. Mahadeva was working in RMC Yard and was owner of a goods mini-truck .

During investigation, the police unearthed that Mahadeva was in depression owing to financial crunch. On Sunday night, Mahadeva, along with his driver, had gone to deliver some items near his house.

After delivering the goods, the deceased asked the driver to go home while Mahadeva hung himself with a rope inside the auto.

The incident came to light on Tuesday morning after a few locals informed police. The police have sent the body for post-mortem. A case of unnatural death has been registered in Subramanayapura police station.
