Darshan may bedischarged today

Actor Darshan Toogudeepa, who was arrested on the charge of beating up his wife Vijayalakshmi here on Friday, is likely to be discharged from the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Chest Diseases (RGICD) on Monday.

Doctors at RGICD said that the actor is “almost fully recovered from jaundice and asthma”.

Condition stable

Darshan's condition is stable and he will be discharged on Monday, Shashidhar Buggi, Director of RGICD, told presspersons on Sunday.

According to another doctor, who has been monitoring Darshan's health from Saturday morning, “Darshan has taken fruits and juice.

“The actor is able to sit and is feeling better. He walked within the ward,” the doctor added.

The doctors are constantly monitoring Darshan's health and he will be subjected to liver test on Monday, he added.

Bail application?

Meanwhile, sources in the film industry said that Darshan's advocates are contemplating filing a bail application in a jurisdictional court on Monday as Vijayalakshmi had agreed to withdraw her complaint.

However, RGICD sources said that they will hand over the actor to the police and prison officials.

Judicial custody

“There are indications that Darshan will be discharged from RGICD on Monday. But, he will be handed over to prison officials as he has been remanded to judicial custody. He will go to Central prison after his discharge from hospital,” the Vijayanagar police told The Hindu .

The prison authorities said that they will produce him before court, if directed.
