‘DA case: Congress govt. will take a good decision’

May 23, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 01:04 pm IST - BENGALURU:

Congress spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi on Friday said the Karnataka government would take a “considered and good decision” on the issue of filing an appeal in the Supreme Court against the High Court of Karnataka judgment acquitting the former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa in the disproportionate assets case.

At the party office here, Mr. Singhvi told presspersons, “I am sure it will take a decision based on all aspects — legal and factual. I think you will get a good decision either way. Just wait for that instead of speculating.” Sources in the State Secretariat said the Cabinet, which is to meet on Monday, will take a decision on filing the appeal in the Supreme Court. A few days ago, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister T.B. Jayachandra said the government would take a few more days to decide on filing an appeal in the apex court.

Last week, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said the State government had nothing to do with either the DMK or the AIADMK and it would take a “legal decision” soon on filing the appeal in Supreme Court.
