Court summons Consul General of France in Pascal Mazurier case

Bangalore Sessions Court on Friday summoned the Consul General of France in Bangalore to appear before it on June 18 in connection with the case of French diplomat Pascal Mazurier, who has been charged with raping his daughter.

Consul General of France, Bangalore, on Friday made a request before the court through a letter to allow two specified consulate employees in the city to participate in the proceedings of the trial and has also requested for an in-camera proceedings, to which the prosecution objected.

Bangalore Sessions Court Judge Shubha Gowdar directed the Consul General of France in Bangalore to serve a copy of the application to B.T. Venkatesh, Special Public Prosecutor and State Public Prosecutor, High Court of Karnataka.

She issued summons to the Consul General of France in Bangalore to appear before the court on June 18.
