Court stays CAT order on Bhaskar Rao posting

May 15, 2013 09:51 am | Updated 09:51 am IST - Bangalore:

The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday stayed the operation of May 1 interim order of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), Bangalore bench, that had directed the State government to post Bhaskar Rao as Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and order), Bangalore, from May 11.

A vacation division bench passed the interim order while hearing a petition filed by Kamal Panth, the incumbent Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order).

Mr. Panth has contended that necessary documents that were submitted before the CAT were not served to him and thus the provisions of Tribunals Act were not duly followed.

Mr. Panth was transferred on April 23 following clearance from Police Establishment Board.
