Court seeks from BBMP its plans to improve roads

March 16, 2011 11:24 am | Updated 11:24 am IST - Bangalore:

The Karnataka High Court on Monday directed the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike to submit an affidavit within four weeks detailing its plans to improve road infrastructure in its jurisdiction.

A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice J.S. Khehar and Justice A.S. Bopanna passed the order while hearing a public interest litigation petition filed by advocate K.N. Subba Reddy in 2005 complaining about quality of roads.

It was based on this PIL the court had appointed a committee which had studied the quality of roads in Bangalore about five years ago and submitted its report.
