Court rider on ad hoc Registrar’s post

April 10, 2013 11:23 am | Updated July 25, 2016 09:00 pm IST - Bangalore:

The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday said that K. Seethamma, whose appointment to the post of ad hoc Registrar of Bangalore University was withdrawn by the government recently, will continue in the post till April 16 if she is not already relieved from the post.

Justice D.V. Shylendra Kumar passed the interim order on a petition filed by Prof. Seethamma questioning the April 4 Department of Higher Education’s notification withdrawing its earlier one by which it appointed her to the post. She was appointed after the High Court held that B.C. Mylarappa was not eligible to hold the post; later, Supreme Court said till it decided on Mr. Mylarappa’s appeal, those appointed would hold the post on an ad hoc basis.
