Court cancels bail for councillor, husband

Azad Nagar councillor Gouramma and her husband, Govindaraju, who were out on bail in connection with the murder of RTI activist Lingaraju, suffered a setback a fast track court cancelled their bail on Wednesday.

Though the jurisdictional Chamrajpet police arrested the councillor and her husband along with a group of seven contract killers and remanded them in judicial custody, the couple had managed to come out on bail.

The Criminal Investigation Department, which undertook investigations based on High Court’s directions, filed its objections to the fast track court, which revoked the bail.
