The Karnataka High Court on Thursday directed the State Government to place before it records pertaining to the Namma Metro project and acquisition of land for setting up aerospace industries near Devanahalli in Bangalore.
Justice D.V. Shylendra Kumar passed the orders in two petitions. In the first petition, the acquisition of land by Karnataka Industries Area Development Board (KIADB) for the Namma Metro project at Peenya and South End Circle on R.V. Road had been challenged.
While R.N. Shetty had challenged the land acquisition for the Peenya station, Zakirunnisa and others filed the petition pertaining to land at South End Circle. They also challenged the change in the structure and design of the metro station there.
Justice Shylendra Kumar asked the authorities to place before the court original records of the project and adjourned the petitions.
In another case, the judge asked the State and the Karnataka Industries Areas Development Board (KIADB) to place before court original records pertaining to the acquisition of land for aerospace industries near Bandikodigehalli and adjoining areas.
The proposed special economic zone (SEZ) there has run into rough weather with the villagers opposing land acquisition.
The court asked the Advocate-General to ensure that the records of the project and the acquisition details are placed before it.
