Couple murder: police gathering evidence to nail culprit

July 07, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:32 am IST - Bengaluru:

The police are yet to make a breakthrough in the murder of an elderly couple in Byatarayanapura.

The bodies were found on Tuesday morning, but police suspect that the murder took place either on Saturday night or Sunday morning.

Sources said that preliminary investigations point to the culprit being a close family member.

‘Credible leads’

A senior officer said that they have credible leads and are procuring corroborative evidence.

“We are analysing footage recorded by CCTV cameras in the neighbourhood. We are employing image enhancement techniques to identify the last person to enter or leave the house. This information is being corroborated with the Call Detail Records (CDR) of all the suspects,” an officer said.
