A 24-year-old sales executive and his four months pregnant wife allegedly ended their lives by consuming poison at their residence in Murphy Town on Thursday.
The deceased have been identified as Saravana and Sonia (21), both hailing from Tamil Nadu. Vivek Nagar police said they were found unconscious by their relatives and were rushed to Bowring hospital.
Sonia was declared dead on arrival while Saravana succumbed soon after. Police said the incident came to light when Saravana’s mother received a message from Sonia stating that she was committing suicide.
