Yediyur councillor N.R. Ramesh and former Sudhamnagar councillor T.V. Prabhu, who are at loggerheads over alleged encroachment of land belonging to the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), allegedly fought on Wednesday on the BBMP premises.
The duo, who were present during the inquiry by a BBMP Joint Commissioner on the alleged encroachment, have now approached the Siddapura police, trading charges of assault against each other.
In his complaint to Siddapura police, Mr. Ramesh alleged that he was assaulted for filing a complaint against Mr. Prabhu regarding encroachment of a parcel of land belonging to the BBMP. He also accused Mr. Prabhu of threatening him with dire consequences.
Mr. Ramesh had earlier filed a complaint against Mr. Prabhu, accusing him of encroaching over 9,000 sq. ft. property belonging to the BBMP worth Rs. 50 crore by allegedly forging the documents.
The BBMP Commissioner had directed the Joint Commissioner to conduct a hearing in this regard. The staff and others present intervened to pacified the duo.
