The employees of a software firm in the city were pleasantly surprised when a troupe of Yakshagana artistes in colourful attire entered their office and started performing.

The five-member team of Karnataka Kaladarshini, a yakshagana troupe, performed inside the office of the ‘Evolving Systems’, a software company in Banashankari Second Stage, on Thursday.

Amidst sounds of Thala, Chande and Maddale, the traditional Yakshagana musical instruments, artistes through their performance urged the employees to “fill up their time sheets” to record their work and raise their voice against exploitation of women.

They enacted a scene of a woman being teased in a bus and how a man comes to her rescue. The artistes also sought to convey the importance of filling time sheets, an exercise the techie community usually ignores. Artistes visited various sections in the office and distributed pamphlets containing information on women protection.
