Container lorry topples, stops traffic

Peak-hour traffic was thrown into a chaos in the vicinity of Sri Kanteerava Stadium here on Monday evening after a container lorry overturned near the Raja Rammohun Roy statue.

Those driving towards Hudson Circle and Richmond Circle were trapped in a snarl for a while even as the police had a tough time in clearing the jam as well as the truck.

Ulsoor Gate traffic police said that the truck overturned when the driver suddenly swerved to the right. The jam had a cascading effecting on Vittal Mallya Road, Richmond Road, Residency Road, Lalbagh Main Road as well as at Queen's Circle.

The lorry driver is absconding.
