The son of a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) constable has been arrested by the Chikkajala police for stealing 18 two-wheelers worth Rs. 12 lakh.

The police said Harsha (20), a resident of CRPF Quarters in Yelahanka, used duplicate keys to steal the vehicles from parking lots and from homes.

He was caught while trying to sell one of the stolen motorcycles and a video camera. Harsha reportedly confessed he had stolen the motorcycles in Sriramapuram, Magadi Road, Seshadripuram, Yelahanka New Town, Cottonpet, Chickpet, HAL, Mahadevapura, Vyalikaval and Kodigehalli police station limits.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northeast Division) G. Ramesh said Harsha was doing his PUC in a Shimoga college but returned to Bangalore after he failed some exams.

He is said to have confessed to taking to crime to live the good life. After he pulled off the first job, he said he became emboldened.
