Constable attacked

Ulfatulla Khan (36), a constable with the Byatarayanapura police station and resident of Shamanna Gardens, was on Monday attacked by some men when he was returning home after work at around 10.30 p.m. near Hosa Guddadahalli.

The attackers threw chilli powder on his face before assaulting him. Passers-by rushed the constable to a nearby hospital. A senior police officer said that Mr. Khan is out of danger. He suspects that the constable was attacked as he identified people involved in the riot at Hosa Guddadahalli following the alleged rape of a student in a school.

16-year-old killed

Mohammed Zebran (16) died on the spot and Toufiq Ahmed (13) was injured when a school bus hit their two-wheeler on R.K. Hegde Nagar Main Road on Monday.
