The Congress Party has urged the Election Commission not to postpone elections to the four seats of the Rajya Sabha from Karnataka scheduled on June 11.

A Congress delegation comprising party general secretary Digvijaya Singh and Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee G. Parameshwara on Monday met Chief Election Commissioner Nasim Zaidi and submitted a petition for not countermanding the Rajya Sabha polls over reports of the “sting operation” conducted by TV news channels.

The Congress maintained that an MLA had made some statement about development in his constituency, which is not personal gratification.

The Congress maintained that no MLA of the party had sought bribes.
