March 02, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:49 am IST - Bengaluru:

The State Congress on Sunday released a booklet titled ‘Arkavathi: factual report’ and termed ‘false’ the charges made by the Opposition against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah with regard to the alleged denotification of land acquired for Arkavathi Layout in Bengaluru.

C.M. Dhananjaya, chairman, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee Legal and Human Rights Cell, released the 18-page booklet and gave a clean chit to the State government. It will be submitted to the one-man judicial commission headed H.S. Kempanna, which was probing the alleged denotification of land, he said.

The Bharatiya Janata Party and the Janata Dal (S) had released reports on the controversial Arkavathi Layout and had alleged that the Chief Minister was directly involved in the issue.

Mr. Dhananjaya said the Opposition had been misleading the public by propagating false charges against Mr. Siddaramaiah in an attempt to dethrone him from the office. The booklet, he said, will be distributed to district Congress functionaries to explain the ground reality to public.
