The counselling by Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMED-K) for private undergraduate professional seats will begin on Tuesday as scheduled.
A spokesperson from the COMED-K told The Hindu on Monday afternoon that the counselling would begin on as scheduled on July 2. The first round of counselling for medical seats under the COMED-K will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Incidentally, this will be the first time when counselling by the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) for private undergraduate professional seats will be beginning before the counselling for government and government-quota seats, which is conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA).
This is despite the State Government requesting the COMED-K to postpone its counselling to after the KEA's, which is yet to conduct the mock allotment of seats to begin the online counselling process. The Hindu has first reported on July 1 about the possibility of the counselling for private seats being held before the counselling for CET rank holders.
