Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has thanked political leaders and common people who stood by him in the hour of grief, after the passing away of his son Rakesh on Saturday.

He thanked leaders from across the political spectrum who condoled the death of his son, a release from the Chief Minister’s office said.

He made a particular mention of Bengaluru-based resident of Belgium, Vijayendra, and his wife, who supported as Rakesh was undergoing treatment at Antwerp there. “I was touched by the fact that the couple even brought home-cooked food for our family to the hospital,” he said.

“People who mourned with us breaking barriers of political parties, caste and creed have showed me what humanity really means,” he said in the release.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah further said: “I pray that no parent be faced with the grief of seeing the death of their own child.”
