CM promises Rs. One crore for retired police officers fund

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday promised a grant of Rs. one crore for retired police officers welfare fund.

Speaking at the Police Flag Day at KSRP ground on Thursday, Mr. Siddaramaiah said that the State government is also planning to open 45 more police canteens to provide subsidized ration to the family of the police personnel across the state.

The State government is also thinking of extending canteen facility to the retired police personnel he said.

Expressing satisfaction over the performance of the police department, Siddairamaiah lauded the city police’s quick action for arresting the accused of the Pragathi PU College shootout case within a few hours.

Some unscrupulous elements are trying to disturb the peace of the society, Mr. Siddaramaiah said and called upon the police to take strict action against them irrespective of the party or group they belong.

He gave Chief Minister Medals to 85 police personnel on the occasion.
